8 of Crystals "Synthesis" - Tarot & Tea

Hey, shiny Moonbeams! Thanks for showing up for our weekly Tarot & Tea date. Today’s card is the Eight of Crystals. This is the Voyager’s equivalent of the Eight of Swords, although the meaning is quite different. The Eight of Crystals is given the name “Synthesis” and symbolizes the versatility of your mind. Like the integrated structure of the crystal, you are able to synthesize diverse ideas and mental qualities. The Eight of Swords traditionally points to restriction, confusion, and a sense of powerlessness that stems more from our perception than from our circumstances. I see the Eight of Crystals as an optimistic contradiction of the standard interpretation of this discouraged pip. The Eight of Swords says “I don’t think I can do this…” while the Eight of Crystals states defiantly “Yes, you can!!”

The tea blend I have chosen to pair with the Eight of Crystals is Positivi-Tea. Tulsi Basil, Lemon Verbena, Rose petals, Spearmint, Cinnamon chips, and Ashwaganda come together to shift us from the Eight of Swords mentality to the Eight of Crystals way of being. Encouraging and adapogenic, this is one of my very favorite Moonrise blends. Even just the fragrance of this lovely tea is mood-lifting. The well-rounded deliciousness of Positivi-Tea showcases the delightful array of unique flavors of its wonderful herbal line-up: tingly, refreshing, floral, warm, and earthy all at once! The combination of Tulsi Basil and Ashwaganda just can’t be beat for effectiveness in supporting us through stress, while Rose, Lemon Verbena, Cinnamon, and Spearmint swiftly clear negativity from the heart. I highly recommend this blend!

The Voyager Tarot, developed by James Wanless PH.D., is an unusual deck with a modern vibe. Developed in the 1980s, this best-selling deck has been described as revolutionary. The images on the cards are photo collages packed with multi-cultural symbolism. This deck diverges from traditional Tarot by the fact that the Disks suit becomes Worlds and the Swords become Crystals. As demonstrated above, the meanings of the Minor Arcana cards get a pretty thorough retranslation. Overall, there seems to be a more positive spin put on things throughout the deck. Interestingly, the Voyager Tarot seems to be particularly popular with the gentlemen. If you are looking for a unique experience with the Tarot, check out Voyager.
